MEC204:Two Body Reduction Into One

Image
In Mechanics, the two-body problem is to predict the motion of two massive objects which are abstractly viewed as point particles. The problem assumes that the two objects interact only with one another; the only force affecting each object arises from the other one, and all other objects are ignored. In yesterday's class,we learnt how to reduce a two-body problem into an one-body problem. Which then allows it to be solved completely, and giving a solution simple enough to be used effectively. This is a picture of the two body problem that we then used to reduce into a one body problem. The procedure is as follows; " Full Procedure and Description " During this class, We learned how to convert the masses into one so it the equation can be simplified, and hence can be solved and applied more easily. We also learnt that it is vital to understand the basics of trigonometry so we can easily derive and understand derivations.
